Do you mean, after the burnout?

Yeah, for the most part it's fine. The turbo has slowed WAY down by the time you hear all that, it won't hurt a thing.

Yeah, after the burnout. It that the same as compressor surge on a centrifugal (in theory I guess since they are related to crankshaft speed). Do you also run a blow off valve? Never heard the "whoosh".

Yeah, there's one on it. It's just 'different sounding' on a big turbo than what most people are used to hearing I guess. It snaps open quick and when the spring overcomes the pressure differential, it shuts... which is why you hear that chopping sound for an eternity.
