I'm a Burt Reynolds fan as much as anyone else, but the best damn part of the movie(and part 2, while crappy but still funny) was Jackie Gleason. His one liners made the movie that much better.

Unfortunately, my grandfather passed away in '88. But what little I remember of him, he was EXACTLY like Jackie Gleason in that movie, a hard-swearing racist redneck and all. Even looked just like him.
