I run a body shop. Doesn't look like rust to me. Just dust.

Actualy, Corvette clearcoat is much different than other GM crap. Ask any detailer who actually knows 1 or 2 things about paint correction. I worked on a yellow 07 vette recently; the clearcoat was incredibly hard. m105 v1/pc/orange barely put a dent in it after 2 passes. Other GM paint is not this difficult to correct. Corvette paint is up there with OEM Audi paint on hardness.

I've managed a body shop for the past 10 years. I don't need to ask a car wash guy about paint.

I thought all the corvette guys freaked out when you took the orange peel out of their paint.

Meh. I believe it. There is a guy on Autopia who works as a Corvette painter, well I guess he manages the computer that controls the robot. Their painting process, flashing, temperature controls etc. lead to a harder clearcoat.

Congrats on being a body shop guy! And, I'm not a car wash guy.

I didn't say you were a car wash guy. You said ask any detailer... and I just responded that I do not need to consult with the car wash about auto paint.

Ask any detailer who knows a thing or two about paint correction (as you said) and they will also tell you not to use dawn dishwasher detergent on paint.

Lol, I've never heard this. We must have ruined a bunch of Corvettes when we painted them at the Chevy house. We sprayed the same paint on the Vettes and Cavaliers.

Pffff... you are another body shop guy who has no idea what you are talking about either. All you body shop guys do is screw cars up.
