I took lives before going into this career...but this is an American citizen and not some foreign soldier/militiaman. A guy with a golf club is no threat to LEOs dressed in tactical gear. Taze his stupid ass...killing him is tantamount to legalized murder if you ask me. Now if he had a gun, blast away. Of course the LEOs in here are gonna come in here with their hypothetical scenarios, but the simple fact is the man was killed for holding a golf club when the cops entered his house. What is a man supposed to do when your front door is kicked in? When someone panics, they arent hearing the "Police, search warrant."

I agree with Dave here. They are in full armor, have him outnumbered heavily, there is no reason they couldn't have rushed the guy to get him to the floor rendering that club useless. In those confined quarters, he MIGHT have got one swing in, IF that considering he's standing in a corner and wouldn't have been able to get a full swing. I've personally taken someone down with a bat before that had plenty of room to swing and got him down successfully without getting hit. Armored officers could have easily done the same in a confined space.
This shooting was unjustified.

I can see both sides here.
The person that was killed, having had numerous visits from the police, had to have known the routine. He shouldn't have expected anything less than what he got.
The police, in full entry gear, were adequately protected from a 5-iron wielding perp. If any of them testified that they though it was anything but a golf club, they should turn in their badge and weapon and trade them for a red and white cane. even in the crappy video, it was obvious that it was NOT a firearm.
If they knew it was a golf club a put three in his chest anyway, well that's easy...it was murder.
Good, sound judgment seems to have been absent on both sides in this situation."It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom - for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself."

In this country, what he did is not punishable by death. Regardless of how many times cops had been to his house. Cops decided it was easier to just kill him rather than take him down and when the law supports this behavior I feel that just shows that we, as a country, are going down the toilet...closer and closer to a police state.

15 men in suits and they are taken back by one man with a golf club.. The story states it was a little before 10pm so it's really not probable that he was sleeping. More likely cops didn't know how to deal in the situation(Weber County needs to work on it's training and procedures.) I feel like they should be held accountable for the lack of rational and training that the officers showed.
On the flip side of the story the guy really was on his third strike so.....If i was a judge he would be getting pretty high punishment which would probably get close to his life span. So on that point i guess i can say thanks to the guys that just lit him up to begin with.
blah blah blah Politics over every decision that's why everything sucks.
