They could be useful in limited applications in just about any home with some of the bells and whistles. Still, as mentioned way to expensive right now.

LED's aren't exactly cutting edge technology, it's the fact that you can control it via wifi and sync it with music that is, which to me is kind of pointless unless you want to have a rave party at your house every weekend. I guess if you're super lazy and don't want to get off your ass to turn out lights it might be useful.

The link Ratt posted shows the Phillips bulb life @ 30,000 hours... you could seriously leave that light on for 3 1/2 years and it wouldn't burn out.
