Lol, I did that shit one day when I snapped the inner lugs that hold the outer drum/wheel adapter BS on my Samurai's back axle on a trail in BFE, Arkansas one time. Basically drug the ass end with the front axle pulling about 3 miles off the trail then a couple more to the nearest Autozone. A green 4" diameter tree trunk works well when chained/ratchet strapped to the leaf spring.
I started keeping spare axles shafts and shit after that.
