F250 v. Car

Headed home from work today and a guy failed to yield right of way on a 2 way service road when I was getting on I20 resulting in an almost head on collision. I didn't even see him not yield. Makes me very thankful to be driving a bigger truck, walked away with black eye and some bruises. He was walking but went to the hospital.

I live on a two way access road for 35. I see it all man. I'm not kidding about 50% of the people make an error around them. Failure to signal, failure to yield, failure to realize that a double yellow line means and drive on the wrong side of the road.

I appreciate two way access roads. They're absolutely dying though.

After looking over the truck I'm fairly sure it completely ran over the front of his car after the hit, because I passenger side step is crushed. I was probably doing 45-50 if I had to guess and was all the way in the throttle when I hit. I'm guessing the truck it totaled unless some how the frame isn't bent, it is 11 months old with 22k miles on it.

I did signal, since I drive this way multiple times every day I always make sure to signal early. When I'm coming the other way I yield regardless of the person coming at me having their signal on.

Looks like you got major suspension damage, frame damage- front and rear, and likely power train damage. It "looks" better since the car mostly went underneath your truck...but that truck still pretty fucked up.

Since the drivers door opened on the car, the passenger compartment maintained it's integrity- at least on the drivers side.

I never been worried about any of the vehicles I've driven in terms of a crash, and I've never owned anything even approaching the size of that truck. But I watch everyone around me....my last wreck was in 1998.

That is kind of what I figure, whole front suspension and steering is fubared, the truck was leaking every fluid in it, it even broke the latch on the center console. This going to suck, cause I really liked that truck. I had them haul it to my yard instead of the impound, so I'm going to go inspect it better this morning.

I feel and look like someone beat the shit out of me lol. That guy also owes me a pair oakleys.
