That exact thing happened to a friend of mine from highschool several years ago....he was part of the North Texas Power Boat Assoc. Had some kind nice go-fast boat, was at an event, a poker run or something up at Texoma....hit a big wake and smashed his head, then flew out of the boat....he was also by himself and not using the ignition lanyard (does anyone?)....so the boat kept on going. They recovered his body a couple days later.

Unless the boat I am on is stopped or is going slow I always wear my vest. I don't care how funny people say I look or how scared they say I am. Accidents happen, that's why they are called accidents and I would rather have some chance of survival then hopelessly sinking to the bottom of the lake.

It is just like a seat belt in a car and is a no brainer in my opinion.....

I don't know enough about them so don't get me lying but I heard just like everything else, the cheaper vests won't be as consistent with keeping you on your back.

I paid a decent amount for mine and it kept me on my back. That was with no sort of wake or anything though. But then again I would rather have a chance in survival then nothing.

Male Passenger - Broken Pelvis Multiple Places
Female Passenger - Crushed Eye Orbital
Male Passenger (From Lake TV) - Fractured Hip, Broken Wrist
