We do some painting from time to time on chuck bails stuff. He wrote, directed and produced the gumball rally. He was also John Waynes stuntman. He said the silver Mercedes in the movie was his personal car. He's a real nice guy. Anyone seen the movie speed zone with John candy where a red Lamborghini skips across a small pond?

That Cannonball opening sequence has been burned into my brain since the first time I saw it wayyyy back in the day. It'll always be one of my favorites. I mean, that many great actors in such a goofy car movie can't go wrong.

Ditto.
I actually ran into that exact Lamborghini at a car show in Florida a few years ago right before it went through a restoration. I have a picture here somewhere. Let me look.
Funny story though...we went to the Nebraska Sandhills Open Road Challenge a few weeks ago. Turns out the day before the race there was a blue corvette doing some "spirited" driving along the race road while it was still open for public use.
Local Sheriff Deputy passes going the other way, turns around and pursues said Corvette. Needless to say the Corvette got away.
As it is a very very small community the story got around pretty quick. The Sheriff finds out about the run-in and chewed the Deputy's butt. Turns out they're under strict orders for those weekends NOT to pursue any vehicles that run. Guess they know better...and don't want to get anybody hurt.1990 Mustang GT - 8.17 @ 176

Here is a pretty cool speech from the driver that holds the cross country record time.
