I've gotten Cletus out about 4 times since Sunday and the only time when he looks like he might bite is when I get him out of the cage. If I reach in there and scoop up his whole body in one motion he's cool, but if I don't get his whole body he doesn't like it at all. I did that last night, stopped, closed the cage and waited about 5 minutes. I tried again and scooped him up and he was just fine. He like to move around fast for the first couple of minutes and then chills and gets situated on my hand and hardly moves. So far so good.

The only time Cletus bit me was when he was "blued". This is when his eyes looked blued or greyed during shedding. It was during feeding time and he mistakenly struck at me. I could tell halfway through the strike that he realized what I was because his body tried to go limp. He barely scratched my hand.
Little Bit was my female ball python. I rescued her from a lazy ass room mate that never took her out to play with her and always fed her in her cage. That bitch would bite me pretty regular for the first couple months and then sporadically during feeding time.
They both loved hanging around my neck, especially when driving around. Cletus would massage my neck by rolling his muscles with an ever so slight constriction. Little Bit picked up on this towards the end of our time together.
Not sure how you snake will like it, but both of mine loved to get in the bath tub when they were shedding. I would put a couple inches of barely warm water in the tub and let them play around for a while. I would use a warm, wet wash cloth and lightly wrap it around their bodies with my hand while they slid out. This would pull the remaining skin off. You want to make sure not to do it too early in the shedding time.
I was guaranteed a serious neck massage after doing this.

She is the only snake that ever bit me (twice) and although it was not that painful, both bites bled a lot! She also musked and shit on me one as she bit me. That was worse than the bite and the last time I handled her or messed with her cage. At the time I had several ball pythons and ended up trading her for an adult red tail boa.
