Someone would have to post Life By th' Drop. I was a huge SRV fan in high school, well still am. I found new meaning and appreciation for that song a couple of years aftr HS when one of my best friends lost his fight with cysticfibrosis.

It is really an amazing song about personal experience. It has made me smile a times, it has ame raise a glass in toast to everyone i have known at times, and it has made me cry at times.
May God give us strength and courage in the time of our darkest hours.

I'm right there with you. It vrought me great comfort at the time, memories flooding back that put me in a better place. Then there are the times that bring me down a bit and miss him. Amazing how SRV made his guitar speak the way he did.
My favorite version of "Life By the Drop" is his unplugged version with him alone on his Guild 12-string. I bought a 12 string just to play THAT version.
I remember exactly where I was when I heard he died. I'd just moved to Lubbock for my first year at Tech and was driving by my dorm when it came over the radio. I had just seen him in concert in June at Starplex and could not belive my ears.
For what it's worth, I saw Kenny Wayne Sheppard in concert last Fri night and IMHO he's the closest to sounding like SRV. He closed with Voodoo Child and I got cold chills from how much it sounded like SRV's version.

I was on my way to work when SRV came on the radio the other day and started thinking I would like to catch a Kenny Wayne Sheppard concert
