    A girl I went to school with builds custom homes and this is the one she built for herself recently. I just happened to be cruising home idea sites and found her stuff on the front page. Definitely not your run of the mill house.

              Thats pretty bad ass, I would include a connecting garage designed the same for the cars.

                              That's what I was thinking. If your house is always in the shade, the direct sunlight can't heat it up, therefore making it easier to cool especially with the air gap between the canopy and the top of the house.
