Really depends what you want out of the car.
BONE stock the zr1 is the king of the vettes... If you dont care about the cost and want to leave it bone stock.. zr1 all the way.

for me.. and what i enjoy the Zr1 doesnt bring near enough to the table. I bought a coupe, since i prefered narrow front. did what i want to it and enjoy it.

will it ever get the "oooh ZOMG ZR1!!!" .. nope..
would it hang with a Zr1 on the road course? in its current setup no way in hell..

But its far better for what i want it to do.. and start to finish i have about 50% into it of what a "stock zr1" costs

I guess if i could afford a 100k+ vette.. i wouldnt be buying a vette.

on a road course stock it out stops and out handles the other vettes..but on the street? im willing to be 99% of people dont exceed the potential of a base coupe never mind a Zr1.

For me i guess, the Zr1 provides little bang for the buck since i couldnt give a damn about road racing.
And that's why there is a choice. You have the car that is right for you and others buy the car that is right for them.

Uhhhh, if you think the GT500 is going to make you a bunch of money in 30 years at BJ, then I wish you the best of luck.

But you don't get the "ZR1 ohmergerd!" Another thing is the Zr1 is very likely going to best the GT500 in collector value in the future.

x2 on option C......I'd take that over both of these and I'm not a vette guy at all.

There's a ZR1 at 84,999. I'm sure that the owner bought it at a GM auction. There are 3 or 4 of them sitting on the lot at the Bonham Chrysler location. They have had them for some time. From the tire pic they posted, it looks like the sales managers have had some fun with them!

Its cool that its made of polycarbonate, but it is only showing the plastic cover over the blower, gay. The ZR1 is a bad ass car can hold its own in a road course, and GM doesn't even talk about 1/8 or 1/4 times on its website. They want to make sure everyone knows it can get on the ring and impress the Stig.
By everyone, I mean the people that can afford a 100K+ car. For me I would roll the SVT from Ford, its a kick ass car and costs a fraction of that ZR1. Unless you're rich, its going to be hard to keep up with the ZR1, the oil changes, tires, ins., etc. will rape your wallet, again its a rich mans car.

and in the odd spirited drive against a Zr1... im not worried about them
