as I see more I'll post them up here. There's pictures in their build thread that I linked above. Considering how many times it rolled, and looking at those pics, how steep the hill was... I say that it survived incredibly well.

Looks like it could have kept on rolling much further...

agreed, I looked at the whole build thread, I'd like to just get some high res, diff angles, I am a safety nut and I like to look at these kind of pics. Do they normally put the main hoop so far back in the evo's? I wonder if tying it into the b piller would have been a good idea.

Wow terrible wreck!! Glad those guys are ok. We built a gt500 last year for the hill climb, the tech on those cars is crazy precise. Props to the cage builder!! Definately saved those guys lives!!

pretty stupid to NOT have a guard rail there especially since it happened before.

main hoop collapsed over the passenger side.

To answer the question, most builders will put the main hoop further back on 4 door cars to allow for more room in the driver compartment and to allow the seats to be installed further back to balance the car. common in 2 doors as well that are nose heavy.

cage did ok considering. the one thing I think would have helped would be two crossbars on the main hoop instead of just the one but I might have missed it in the photos.

Oh, and those "nascar" bars are worthless in a side impact If they have a straight section or S bend between the hoop/a pillar and the outer bar, they fold like paper. FIA rally cages are MUCH better designs.

Glad they are OK but they need to take up golf.

Thats a shame. I loved watching the 18 wheelers go up that thing when it was dirt.

Hell watching anything go up it when it was dirt was cool. Now its just another up hill road course.

wow, that's crazy. They should be a curve ahead sign up (poor attempt at humor). It's amazing they weren't seriously injured. I can't imagine what they were thinking when the car left the dirt. At least the muffler made it, I always liked the N1 muffler style. The pic with the car going off the cliff sideways will make someone an amazing background.
