yeah, looks like he underestimated the decreasing radius

bingo. way too fast for that corner.

some have speculated he and/or the nav got that corner mixed up.

I just don't understand how you build a car and spend tens of thousands of dollars on it, and then don't even know the course you're driving it on with your life in your hands?

Sounds plausible to me considering how hot he came into that corner.

Practice times were severely cut down this year, apparently. Tons more entrants, sponsoring org didn't purchase any more time for practice, and so everyone got less practice. As per an entrant, at least.

the number one complaint on PP's facebook page immediately following the race from the other drivers was the lack of seat time in practice.

you really cant really know the course beyond the seat time you are given. when the course is 12 miles, 156 turns, this is your first year out with limited seat time, and oh yea, a mistake = doom... F that.

Yup, too hot, decreasing radius turn in a car that's notorious for understeer. Very lucky to have walked away from it.

Most everyone got two test runs. They only got one on this section due to a mechanical. Not to say that another test run would have helped them. IMNSHO this is a known "oh shit" corner with multiple offs so it should have been pretty big in their notes as to "slow the F down".

Did you guys see that idgit on the outside of the turn just hanging out? Death wish.

I know the course is extremely intricate and long, but that's why you have a navigator, it is his responsibility to call out turns, correct?

Wow, didn't know that! That sucks for someone wanting to be competitive, can't really push it at all with that little seat time, well unless you want to crash
