  • Friend's off at Pikes Peak yesterday

    [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zEUrEPPABbY[/ame]

Both walked away (codriver had a dislocated arm/shoulder). Obviously sore with bumps and bruises.

The roll cage saved their lives.

Jesus. That may be the worst crash I've ever seen. I wouldn't expect someone to survive a ~300' fall onto boulders, even in a car with a substantial cage. They aren't designed to take impacts like that multiple times. I'm amazed that they lived. I bet they won't forget THAT day.

Damn, talk about a scrap metal yard sale. Props to the safety equipment and whoever built the car.

Do you quit after something like this or jump back into to it like it never happened? When I use to ride quads if I wrecked on a jump, I'd get right back up and try again or my fear would take over.

        Glad they're ok!

Doesn't happen often but when it does it is horrific.
Still pissed they paved the entire thing.

                  Fear? or common sense?

I don't see why anyone would drive like that on a road like that. I mean, I'm all for having fun, but a road track with gravel pits, tire barriers, etc, that is not on the side of a mountain would be alot safer.

I guess I'm just a little more grounded and have no desire to live life on the edge.

Was that a factory evo modified with a cage, or was it a custom tube chassis with a body skin?

My friend and I are comtemplating going up there in the next few years to run it. We are undecided what we want to run. We are looking at Factory Five GTM or a winged modified.
