    Kilt it....

    Looks like pushing my luck on a stock block caught up with me....


    Roached the front main. One of the halves walked a couple millimeters and all the rest of the bearings have heavy wear that look like they came out of a 100k mile motor(only 9500 on the motor). Think Ill be ordering a strong Dart based 331.

        It made 503 in the heat but when I would go to the track Id chill the water methol on dry ice and it ran CONSIDERABLY better so maybe closer to 520ish on a good day.

        Brad, I've already started on the shopping list for the 331 and will likely have it all ordered this week. Hopefully back on the road in 1-2 months.

              Id like to go turbo but I'm trying to go to a Dart based motor as economically as possible.... lol I know that's a contradiction but I'm simply getting a short block, swapping it all over and upgrading to a T-trim for now.

                Btw it didn't quite go boom. It threw the blower belt and I noticed the crank pulley was wobbling and there was a bad shake. Was still running with low oil pressure but it wouldnt have for long.
