That's the nut that went on the bracket that bolted to the firewall that keeps it from falling off. The aluminum bracket is counter-bored so the nut can tighten the bracket to the hydroboost and not interfere with the firewall.

Thanks man. It's coming along. We should have ALL of the suspension bolted back on this week in it's semi-final resting place.

            • We finished up about 2am this morning and rolled it forward so we could see it without the lift in the way.

Got the two link bars DONE. I welded gussets on the bottom of the bag plates, and boxed in the shock tabs. Also welded an extra 1/4" plate on the back of the right side panhard bar and drilled and tapped it so there's a 1/2" of threads for the panhard bar to bolt to the two link bar.

This is as low as it will go because the trans pan in on the ground.

              • I am liking these updates. What is your timeframe or goal for getting it on the road? Notice I did not say "done".
Fuck you. We're going to Costco.

Thanks Keith. I honestly don't know. I don't really have a goal, specifically. I'd like to be able to drive it to the Invasion but that's less than a month away so I may have to shoot for Pistons N' Paint in November and have plenty of time to get A LOT of the work done to the car that I want to get done.

My panhard bar should get powder coated tomorrow, so we can get that put on and ceter the rear end, and I think I'm going to go ahead and have the valve covers and intake manifold sprayed with the same ceramic gold as on the manifolds, so it all matches under the hood. I'll have the calipers sprayed ceramic gold as well.

                  • Nice. I love the patina on that thing. I hope you don't change it. Looks like it will make a nice ride. The work looks top notch too.

Thanks Corey. I plan on leaving the original paint on it. I'm hoping I can find another fawn colored car to get the front fenders and front doors off of so I don't have to paint them. The car I found up in Oklahoma is PERFECT, but the lady that owns it WILL NOT sell it, so that's a shame.

Thanks Brad. With it getting set on the floor on all four wheels it really boosted the motivation.

Lol, I tell the old man you said hi. You should come by the shop sometime. Do you know where his shop is now ?

                              • Couple of updated pictures. There will be quite a bit more updated pictures after tomorrow. I got the intake manifold ceramic coated gold, and it's ready to bolt on along with the exhaust manifolds. I'll be making new brake lines for the rear end since we swapped rears, and making a couple new lines for the front since we went from a single reservoir master cylinder to a dual reservoir with hydroboost. The master cylinder from a 1977 Corvette with power brakes is the correct MC to bolt on the hydroboost, by the way.

Got ALL of the new steering parts painted and installed. This thing should drive like a new car. New CPP 500 power steering box, New center link, drag link, pitman arm, inner and outer tie rod ends, spindles, brakes and calipers.

It's getting a little closer. Got my wiring harness and computer as well.
