My friend made one that looked similar to the one above. He all the electronics on one side and tried to separate it with plexi glass and some clear sealant. few hours before we floated he filled the other side with beer and ice. when we went to float he opened it and the water and ice was everywhere. He flipped out and started screaming at it, and attempted to rip it apart. He then managed to cut him self and started bleeding everywhere. I had to run away to laugh uncontrollably, he spent so much time on it.

I bought mine from icedcustoms.com here in Fort Worth. It's made about 15 river trips with no issues. I just clip an Ipod shuffle and go. The battery in the shuffle goes out before the stereo battery. Only downside is that it isn't meant to carry ice.

I have floated with it about 10 times the only updates are an Optima Blue top and a Satechi Bluetooth Multi-Media Remote for controlling my iPhone (which stays inside of the cooler in a waterproof bag). It has an old school Rockford Fosgate Punch 100 amp running two pairs of JBL Marine 6X9's. It gets loud as hell and never overheats. Check out http://www.motorboatyourself.com/forum/index.php for a bunch of ideas.

I made this one 3 years ago about 2.5 hours before we left on a trip to New Braunfels, because no one else had a radio. I used some stuff that was just sitting in the garage. An old pioneer deck, an even older radio shack 60 watt eq with an aux input, and some old sony 6x9's. It's not pretty, but it's loud and does the trick. I still use it anytime we need portable music.
