  • DFW(Mu)Stangs in the beginning.

Ran across an old issue of Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords I have awhile back, and figured you guys that hadn't seen it would get a kick out of this. Kind of weird to read knowing what happened with the sellout, but still an interesting time capsule for the site. Hope this is big enough to read easy.

    March, 2001.

No mention of douchebag members, or friday drama, or tits or gtfo, or constant FTP. This is not the DFWstangs that I know.

I bet it gave the site a ton of traffic. Internet usage was just finally starting to be commonplace around that time.

Internet usage/access had been huge for several years at least. The Social Media on the other hand was a new thing and that's what the article really represents.

Holy shit, you can meet people over this thing?

It always seemed like everyone I knew was behind the curve on it then. I was meeting people as early as 95 or 96 from stuff like this. I used to make a ton of money on Mustang parts sales online because there wasn't a lot of competition. Hell, found the front clip for my SVO on Corral in Hawaii in December of 96.

Yeah, i guess i was to self focused on it - for car guys who barely did anything cept read car mags, the internet was starting to come into its own about that time for "those" people.

There were always early adopters tho.
