A new Punisher movie is on it's way.

Jonathan Hensleigh's The Punisher is by no means a good movie, but none of that blame can really be put on Thomas Jane. Made during a time when movie studios became desperate to get absolutely any comic book property onto the big screen - films like Elektra, Daredevil, and Fantastic Four were from the same era - The Punisher was sloppy and generic, but Jane brought life to Frank Castle. Because the movie underperformed a full budgeted sequel wasn't made (instead we got Punisher: War Zone with Ray Stevenson), but apparently Jane doesn't want to let go of the character just yet.
The actor has apparently created a short film titled Punisher: Dirty Laundry that he released during Comic Con. He did it not because he was hired to, but because he simply loves the character and wanted to play it another time. About the short Jane said, "I wanted to make a fan film for a character I've always loved and believed in - a love letter to Frank Castle & his fans. It was an incredible experience with everyone on the project throwing in their time just for the fun of it. It's been a blast to be a part of from start to finish -- we hope the friends of Frank enjoy watching it as much as we did making it."
Yes, indeed that was Ron Perlman as the clerk at the liquor store. Overall I was amazed how affected I was by this. It had a real gritty intensity to it and I found myself cringing more than a few times (in a good way). Credit to Phil Joanou for making something pretty damn cool!.
