Why bother shooting them down when they are so easily hacked. Homeland Security dared the kids at UT Austin to hack one of their drones. Not only did they hack it with equipment that cost less than $1000, they did it in a week.

To be clear they didn't 'hack' the drones, they simply sent out a stronger GPS signal than what the drone was getting from the satellites. Not that its less dangerous because you could have them do a suicide run at something via this method.
