After reading what they posted up to justify the value, it totally makes sense to me. Exotic materials = $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

I don't doubt that the profit margins are much bigger in bmx bikes vs. mountain bikes. I know jack about mountain bikes but I do know that a good road bike will make a $700 bmx bike look like its free. It's all about how fast, big, or insane (by today's bmx standards) you want to go. I personally have broke more bike frames, cranks and random parts to know that I will pay for the good stuff....everytime. You have to pay to play.

I used to have a white on white Hutch Windstyler. I think I was in 6th grade when I got it. The grandparents splurged for Christmas that year. If I remember correctly it was between $600 - $700. Man I still miss that bike.

In 8th grade 2 guys stole my bike and a buddies when we were leaving a pizza place. They had huge knives. The guy that took mine pushed on my stomach hard enough to cut my shirt but luckily not cut me.

To the original poster. I have a race bike with a good 1500$ in it that used to ride when I raced. One off schneider chromoly race frame, bombshell forks and wheels, answer carbon bars, and a whole 3 boxes of spare parts that I'd let go for 500$. If I remember correctlu its a 20.5 top tube.

All you need to do is work on one of those shitty Wal Mart bikes, then work on well built Redline and you'll understand why the Redline costs more....

The more expensive bikes are better quality and ride much better...

cranks, frame, brakes, etc.... all are better on the Redline

I was sponsored by Kink, S&M, Allied and local bike shop in my late teens/early 20s. I have a Kink Revision B with about $2,000 in parts in my closet. I miss my bike and I need to ride her more
