I was thinking the same thing. That much weight difference and only 100hp difference should at the very least be an even turnout.

touche, never seen it and ive been to jail too many times to risk going back over street racing.. BUT i know my e30 would chirp 3rd and 4th gears the way it was set up and those chassis are 90% identical.. (the e30 made ~100 hp lol). I just cant imagine it "dead hooking" unless it has a solid axle, otherwise he is definitely babying it for the sake of keeping it together..

Miatas weigh about 2400 stock, and an LS weighs in around what? 400 pounds? So that makes the Miata close to, or right at 2800 pounds. The vette weighs about 3200? Not sure that 400 pounds is offset enough by the extra 100 hp to see the Vette run away like that.

with driver that vette is around 3700lbs.

Really?? I beg to differ, you are still trying to get that much more weight up to speed. I agree it matters more on the slower end, but it still matters.

That Miata needs a turbo 400 or a 4l80e and a 300 to 320 gear.

Miata is 2980lb with driver, car had made 620 on dyno at 12-14psi. Tune was finished on the street and is around 16-17psi (guessing at the 700 mark)

Because it's slow!

It helps on the low end of speed. I'd say anything 100+ is a wash and power takes over.

To say it has no effect would be foolish, but it doesn't bear as much of a difference as is does once the jump is made. A lighter car with less power will jump out and then be reeled in by the heavier more powerful car.

And 2890 w/ driver! ? Yack! That's almost the same weight as my coupe. I'm only 100lbs more.
