I'm sick of these people deliberately baiting LEOs (and other non-LEO agents) just to get a "Hey, look at me!" and trying to cast LEOs in a negative light. We do NOT know what people that reported the guy said, we do NOT know if he may have done something threatening. The officer handled himself perfectly in the situation though, IMO. He was faced with some glory-seeking, wannabe lawyer that was out to prove a point, and discredit the police. He failed on both accounts.

The tone of the guy shows that he is a prick looking for a reaction. I am very impressed with the officer's ability to stay calm and professional. If anything, this video proves to me that there is at least one good cop in that city.

HAHA what an ass, people making these stupid videos crack me up. Go ahead and act like a dick and see where it gets you. Be polite answer his questions and be on your way, you're not going to prove anything minus how you fought the law and the law won. If youre think they are in the wrong put the camera out of sight and mind your ps and q's and go that route...

In an open carry state, I think that people shouldn't have to worry about being stopped by the police to check for legality of their weapon.
However, I think the real problem here is that the denizens of Delaware need to be educated on the fact that open carry is legal. If there's a ton of calls coming in for someone openly carrying a firearm, you have a lot of uneducated citizens. Oopen carry should be something that the people are familiar with. Comfortable? Maybe not, but they should know it's legal. If this were rectified, then the only 911 calls being reported would be because the guy carrying is acting suspicious or aggressive.
Either way, you're carrying a firearm on your person, in plain view, and on a public street with lots of people. If an officer stops you to make sure everything is kosher, just show him your damn ID. That cop was pretty cool: on a non-baited check, that guy would have already been down the block, still armed, by the time the video was over with.Originally posted by PGreenCobraI can't get over the fact that you get to go live the rest of your life, knowing that someone made a Halloween costume out of you. He's getting his money's worth of Con Law classes right there. I enjoyed watching it. My feeling is, if he isn't under any reasonable suspicion, why fuck with him. He may be baiting the LEO but the LEO shouldn't be biting either. He's the Rosa Parks for open carry, fighting the good fight for us lowly civilians LOL

Props to the police officer. If I ever get pulled over again with my weapon on me I hope the cop is as nice as that guy was.
I'm not a fan of the idea of being stopped by a cop for doing something that is completely legal, but I can understand why if they get a call they at least want to make sure the guy can legally carry. Case law overrules my opinion on that so I guess he is in the wrong. If the officer was that nice about it I probably wouldn't think twice about showing ID as a courtesy.
Although it is completely legal I can understand why a gun could make a person a little anxious, so I try to be understanding of that. That is probably the reason I wouldn't regularly open carry if it were legal here."A government big enough to give you everything you want, is strong enough to take everything you have."
