I read on drudge that the blacks were angry about this because they wore them as slaves....
Blacks are the only people that wore shackles? Fuck, they are atill used today.

A couple things come to mind..

- It was pretty stupid to do this because common sense dictates that this will piss off a demographic that is a significant part of Adidas' business.

- I look at this shoe and think of it as a metaphor showing how African Americans have enslaved themselves to fashion. Just look at the near riots that occur when Air Jordon's are released for sale. A lot of people that live below the poverty line are literally fight to own a pair of fuckin' shoes that they actually can't afford. I guess the same can be said about many of the rest of us for other fashion trends.
