    New project... nothing special but I like it!

    I've been looking for a project recently and came across this. It's in pretty rough shape, but the drive train seems to be solid and the truck still drives straight. I know everyone has seen a Lightning before and it's nothing special, but it's mine!!! 2000 Lightning with 120k on the clock. It should make a good daily for a while!

    I'll post after pics when it's done. I dropped the truck at the body shop earlier today and they will start on it in the morning. The owner said in 2 weeks, I should be driving it!

    Biggest problem so far is that my wife has already claimed it...

    I thought "good daily's" got more than 12mpg. J/K. 2nd gen lightnings are some of the coolest trucks ever built. Have fun with it!

      Congrats on the ride but didn't the 99/00 lightnings had some major recalls on it?
      2010 F-350 6.4L SRW CC 4X4

      Spartan tunes, 5 inch flo-pro, 4 inch down pipe, cold side piping, AFE stage 2 CAI, EGR delete, Air Dog II

      2012 Mustang 5.0 GT Stock........for now.

        I didn't really look into recalls or for TSB's on it. I thought it was a cool truck and the price is what I could afford so I went with my gut. We'll see how that turns out.

        As for the MPG in the other post, working from home has its perks. I have a need for a pick up truck in my line of work so it will help out!

                          Nice, I had a 02 Lightning, one of the fastest vehicles I ever owned. A few basic Mods and you have over 500lbs of TQ. More than enough for most street driven vehicles.

                          I smacked around Nicks WRX with Don in my truck in Arlington, another doubter of the potential of that 'L. I made a believer out of everyone that night...
