  • Pics of my Dads 67 Mustang

My Dad was wanting a classic project car to enjoy once he retired, so he found this Mustang for sale and scooped it up. When he picked it up, it was red with a primer hood and left front fender, (previous owner hit a deer) and a 302 in need of a rebuild along with the automatic transmission.

The interior you see in the pic is basically untouched with the exception of some new gauge faces, steering wheel, and minor trim pieces. There are some minor things to touch up and I'm sure he'll get to it when he can.

It has taken him about four years to get it to this point. He still needs a couple major components like air conditioning and a front disc brake conversion.

I forgot to get a pic of the engine bay, but it's just your basic paint and chrome goodies. The bottom end was rebuilt by a family friend and a set of Edelbrock heads and mild cam were added. It was then finished off with an Edlebrock intake and carburetor. The block, intake, heads are painted Ford blue. Once the transmission came back from a shop for a rebuild and shift kit, his friend did the motor/transmission install. He had an exhaust shop install a set of headers along with dual exhaust using some generic FlowMaster type mufflers followed by chrome tips.

Once it was up and running to his liking, he handed it off to a paint and bodyshop where they performed the body work and applied the wintergreen color and three or four coats of clear (can't remember).

My Dad still being old school, he just recently installed the set of Cragars with new tires, I think they look great. For the longest he rolled around on some 14" wheels that had a factory look to them.

The Mustang runs great with the exception of some serious one wheel peel, he and I have yet to figure out what to do about that.

I was in a rush to snap some pics before he headed off to home, so they're kind of crappy. Anyhow, enough yappin' and on with some pics.

There aren't many 67 - 69 coupes I like, but that one is very nice. I like the color too.

I dig the car, color, and wheels. Not so much on the exhaust tips.

Nice ride. I know the feeling on the one tire fire, my cougar does the same. The leaf springs suck for traction on top of that.

A nice looking Mustang your father has!

Reminds me of my first car I had right out of UT, a white 1967 coupe like that with red interior, auto, radio. Should have bought the white 390 fastback next to it at the dealer. It was $500 more, but my father would not co-sign a loan that big ($3500)! He said I didn't need a big V-8 car anyway.

I enjoyed mine for three years until the wife, family, etc. came along and that ended my early Mustang years.
                            Mustangs previously owned:
1967 Coupe V8 (My first car)
                            1992 LX AOD
                            1993 LX Drag Car
                            1995 GTS
                            1997 Cobra
                            2000 Cobra R

                            2002 Corvette C5 A4 10.64@ 127.1
                            Undercover SC Dragster 8.10's

                            In the garage now....
                            2016 Honda Accord Touring
2015 F-150 Silver 5.0 XLT SuperCrew, like new condition

Retired 2008 after 41 years as an EE at LTV (Garland)/TI/Raytheon. Enjoying ham radio now.
