My Dad was wanting a classic project car to enjoy once he retired, so he found this Mustang for sale and scooped it up. When he picked it up, it was red with a primer hood and left front fender, (previous owner hit a deer) and a 302 in need of a rebuild along with the automatic transmission.
The interior you see in the pic is basically untouched with the exception of some new gauge faces, steering wheel, and minor trim pieces. There are some minor things to touch up and I'm sure he'll get to it when he can.
It has taken him about four years to get it to this point. He still needs a couple major components like air conditioning and a front disc brake conversion.
I forgot to get a pic of the engine bay, but it's just your basic paint and chrome goodies. The bottom end was rebuilt by a family friend and a set of Edelbrock heads and mild cam were added. It was then finished off with an Edlebrock intake and carburetor. The block, intake, heads are painted Ford blue. Once the transmission came back from a shop for a rebuild and shift kit, his friend did the motor/transmission install. He had an exhaust shop install a set of headers along with dual exhaust using some generic FlowMaster type mufflers followed by chrome tips.
Once it was up and running to his liking, he handed it off to a paint and bodyshop where they performed the body work and applied the wintergreen color and three or four coats of clear (can't remember).
My Dad still being old school, he just recently installed the set of Cragars with new tires, I think they look great. For the longest he rolled around on some 14" wheels that had a factory look to them.
The Mustang runs great with the exception of some serious one wheel peel, he and I have yet to figure out what to do about that.
I was in a rush to snap some pics before he headed off to home, so they're kind of crappy. Anyhow, enough yappin' and on with some pics.
