Ok, lets go ahead and assume for a second the the water well driller didn't case the well like it should have been. Explain how the drilling mud/Bentonite found it's way in with all the great steps that the drilling companies take. The Daily

Maybe the casing crew didn't do its job well on the gas well. Look I'm not saying that these gas wells are 100% cased correctly. I do know that what they are trying to proclaim in this GASLAND is that fracing is the end all denominator in contaminating these wells. Most of the time and in this video its Methane that makes its way to these water wells and that is due to natural methane migration in the formation. Its able to reach these water wells because they arent cased properly. Now if bentonite or something that the frac crew use then yes they probably have cracked casing, or a bad cement job. Mistakes happen in every industry, but they don't point that out, they are just quick to point out that every frac job is going to screw up water wells and pollute, pollute, pollute. Up here in PA there have been a few bad casing jobs out of about 600+ wells drilled, I'd say that's a pretty decent margin of error, and the gas companies pay greatly for it in both fines and then some. Bottom line is fracing has been done for 50+ years and has been done pretty damned flawlessly since and has opened the door to many formations not thought possible to get.Originally posted by PeeWeeC5 View PostOk, lets go ahead and assume for a second the the water well driller didn't case the well like it should have been.
