My personal experience, the Ls3 is a bad bitch. I know for a "Fact", they can make 800 rwhp and survive DD habits at ease. I know because I done it, beat the ever lasting shit out of it in a 4000 pound car. Missed shifts on a button and all.

Not only that, the car had two separate drivers. There wasn't a single time I got in the car and didn't take it to 7400 rpm at least once just rowing gears. I made passes at the track just to keep the rust off of me. Granite the wife would have divorced me if she knew. She didn't want me to drive so I didn't. He did.

I wouldn't call 800 rwhp Ls3 a max effort build, it was on pump gas for sure. We made that much power through the stock fuel system with nitrous. 542 all motor and 80x on the spray.

For you guys questioning either build is entertaining. Do a mod for mod pound for pound boost test and I believe you'll see the OLD pushrod motor works well enough to compete vs the coyote.
I agree, the GM LS pushrod motors maybe old school tech but they can handle a punch and perform very well with mods.

    • Who cares, most of the fuggers that can afford these rides can't drive them anyway. Like the dipshit in the ZL1 I saw at Red Lobster a couple weeks ago, I gave him the thumbs up for a nice looking car and he got all egotistical on me......lol. I could probably drag his old no driving ass down the track, even a 100 hp can't make up for stupid.

The 5.0-litre 'modular V8' engine is currently the Ford Performance Vehicles' V8 engine, released in June 2010. Initially two versions were released, one rated at 315 kilowatts (422 hp) and 545 newton metres (402 lb·ft) of torque and the other at 335 kilowatts (449 hp) and 570 newton metres (420 lb·ft) of torque. Both engines carry the 'Boss' moniker, with the 315 kW version dubbed the "Boss 315", and the more powerful version dubbed the "Boss 335".

I think that applies to pretty much any car. You can't fault the car just because the driver can't exploit all of it's capabilities. Guys who buy these "fast" factory cars just like to know what the car can do whether they exploit it or not. They like carrying a big stick around even if they don't smack people with it (or can't smack people with it because they suck).

No way is the Boss 335 supercharged? That doesn't even make sense. An extra 42 horposewer and only 18lb/ft of torque?

You are right, it sure as hell doesn't. Maybe emissions are so bad over there that it has to blow flowers out the tailpipe or something. I have no idea.

One thing is for sure 335 kilowatts or whatever it is doesn't sound nearly as manly as 449 horsepower!

                  • At least as far as a few years ago, emissions in Australia were laughable. 2002year model cobras (in Australia) had longtubes installed from the factory, if i recall.

So they made what? 220 megawatts at the wheels?

                      • It made 200.1 kangaroos to the wheel. Or 631 wallabys.

They are definitely out there. There were probably 10 of them at mid America Ford and shelby meet. Though 2 of them actually belonged to Ford still.
