Put temp metal supports, build new columns and be down with it in about a month.

I got pics of similar accident on 30/183 out by spinks I worked where 2 columns were demolished.

Happened out by the base a while back too. Took a little over a month to fix. Similar accident. Trucker fell asleep at the wheel and hit the center bridge support. He survived but his kid that was sleeping in the sleeper died.

Thats the one im talking about... One of the perks of working for txdot, but sucks at the same time. That bridge actually got hit two more times during the month time span

The truck full of OE 40 oz beer was fun to tear up to get off the road.

Add that with all the dumbass drivers out there and it's an accident waiting to happen.
40 to 70k? Most are 80k and there trying to get it bumped up to 90k.
Im sure with enough money tossed there way they will pass it.
Before you make any more dumb comments maybe you should check out some statistics on miles driven per accident rate. Last month I put a little over 15k miles. Have well over a million accident free miles, do you?

If you're talking about BNSF, what a pain that place was to back in. When trailers are wall to wall and chassis lined the tracks, that place was tight. The only thing that saved me was driving a daycab.

            May the driver RIP.

I sat in traffic this morning at 10 am because of this wreck. When I passed they were loading the drive train onto a flat bed with a front end loader. Holyleeshiat!

Wtf are you trying to prove? 80k dry weight? Or are they all 80k all the time? I was giving a generic range. I bet you haven't built as many buildings as me...ooOooo. My penis is also 12". Boom.

Congrats on your million miles. Thanks for doing what you do. No need to prove how awesome you are.

My guess is that he was distracted by all the nudie joints on the service road.

When I worked at the lime plant in Clifton, TX, they had some kind of permit that allowed the trucks to be loaded to 86,000. I know, because I was the one who fueled them up, drove them down, loaded them up, weighed them, then took them back up front. If they were 500 pounds light, I got my ass jumped by the drivers, if they were 500 pounds heavy, I got my ass jumped by the company.

The girls over on that side of town are typically smokin! lol....

Yeah, I work in distribution and have for the last 20 years. IMO typically OTR truck drivers are the ones you have to worry about, such as this guy. We have them call all the time asking for directions because they can't find our building right of from 635. We have had a few in our parking lot that could not find our suite and my building is 420,000 sq ft in a little over a million sq.ft. business park. I've seen them take 30-45 minutes to back there truck into the dock...even had a couple take a dump in the parking lot. Nothing they do surprises me anymore. oh, and they ALL hit on my CSR with the same old stupid line.

UPS, Pepsi, Wal-Mart......Most dedicated fleets (again, IMO) are not in the same class. Most of these guys are tested and pretty good at what they do. Oh and Max weight is 80,000 lbs = Steer-12,000 lbs, Drive - 34,000 lbs and Trailer - 34,000 lbs. (loaded and fueled)

I saw this bridge last night first hand.....I can't believe it didn't fall....

The strange thing to me is he had just come around the Ferguson curve. I drive through that way to work everyday. It's an S-Curve, and you have to be paying attention to negotiate it. I don't know how he would have fallen asleep right after that or gotten up enough speed to do that much damage. I'm definitely interested to see what they think happened.
