  • good idea, bad idea?

So my SVO needs paint in a bad way, this is what it looks like now.

I've been thinking of going to a bright blue like this,

with goldish bronze wheels, and a nice 3" single exhaust out the rear.

    or factory gray again.
What do y'all think? any input welcome.

Bad idea. I personally would paint it the ford mineral grey (not sure if that is the official name) and call it a day.....

I would go navy blue with a bright titanium or some bright silver wheel.

        NO

Having owned 3 of them and being an enthusiast and not an SVO purist, I prefer the stock period correct colors for those cars. I think the color has the potential to look good, but just not on that particular car, espcially after reading bronze rims. Keep it simple. Nothing wrong with the grey, some clearcoat and new markers and you're in business.

        my .02

good luck with whatever you choose though, killer car and I miss all of mine daily, when they ran lol

Is yours an 85 or 86? I would kill for another SVO.

I had an 84 with 85/86 lights, but instead of the 4pot turbo, I got it with a non-running carbed v-8. I put a new motor in it, raged it for a few years, and sold it. 4pt cage, Momo wheels, saleen tail, black w/ grey interior, and B-springs (maybe w/ a coil cut out, I don't recall).

Hal's car looked good, black with bronze/gold wheels and vote no for the light blue
