I get 16mpg City & 21 Hwy in my Single Cab TBI & I hear the Vortec Motors do better.

I know the 2002 Ext Cab Silverado I had with the 5.3 did right at 25 mpg Hwy & 20 City

The miles are a little high but not too bad, 189k. As far as the MPG its not too bad really, I can already tell its better than what my 06 F150 what getting!

I used a 96 4x4 Tahoe to tow my Mustang back from GA. It got a consistent 12mpg.

My 98 is ex cab with 22s and has a lil over 200k miles and has never missed a beat. I drive 60 miles round trip to work and back and it does real good on gas. I recently changed the fuel pump and had to splice in the new harness for the pump and its acting up now. I wired it the right way and now it only starts when it wants to and the pass side headlight and turn signal are real dim. Other than that, the truck has been wonderful to me. Dad bought it new in 98 and my sisters and brother have drove it hard. These are good/strong ass trucks.

My 98 has 218k miles on it and it runs like new. Mine has posi (G80), 3.42 gears, Z71 package...and with 285 16's gets about 18-19hwy and about 14-16 city. Best vehicle I've ever owned.

I did the March Ram Air Kit with the UPD Cold Air Kit & Airraid tube & even had that Toronado thing in LOL with the Nelson Tune & Exhaust & on Hwy I got 25mpg steady. I just kept my foot out of it & coasted. I have also learned to drive my cars for gas mileage & always keep my tires at 38 PSI & drop weight like my spare unless im going on a road trip.

Hell it ran 9.50s with the one wheel peel. That truck had some get up & go
