New Zs are 80-100k man, I'd think 30-50 more grand is more than "a few grand extra"...

Seeing as how a lot of the LS series has oiling issues on the auto course will the ZL1 have the same flaw since it's not dry sump?

By "a lot" you mean a small percentage of 06 z06's that had a very specific issue fixed in later years right?

Not sure, I remember hearing about regular LS1's having an issue as well with starvation due to lateral G's leaving the pickup dry. It's been awhile since I looked into the them so it may be fixed.

I heard about it. What was the problem anyway? Was this the thing where they had to change out oil pans?

yup.. high G prolonged banked turns ( dont remember if its a left or right turn) would drain oil away from the pickup and oil starvation would occur..

Even a dry sump has a pickup in the oil pan, it has a suction hose that would pick up from that point. If that pickup gets starved, it could mean problems depending on how the rest of the system is made.

But isn't the point of a dry sump to operate at high pressure without any air in the lines?
