  • Pole Position Raceway in Frisco

Went out to Pole Position Raceway with my buddy (Red Bull shirt) to play around a little and I brought my GoPro along with. I came in 2nd and passed the entire field, except for the guy who was 0.010 seconds faster than me. I outweighed him by 50lbs and it was only my 2nd time racing these go karts, so I was satisfied. I think our times were in the 24.7 sec range, but I'm not sure.

The camera position sucks, but for those who haven't been out and were wanting to get a sense for it, it works. I want to go out to Dallas Karting Complex next and check it out.

Been there. It's a lot of fun and is a nice, clean, well-run facility.

Dallas Karting was a poorly run disaster the last time I went. Pole Position FTW IMO.

DKC is more fun, the people there suck. It's sad almost.

Only if I can have one with red and blue's and chase you with it. Ah the entertainment that would be.

They are...they're ok though. I drove some gas karts in Mooresville, NC last night and they had about the same top speed, but the gas karts seemed to have a little better mid-range, picking rpms back up a little quicker than the electric karts did. Definitely fun though, and worth the $24 or whatever it was. Just don't let them talk you into the membership unless you really are going to go back pretty regularily. I live too far away, so I just bought single races.

Yeah, I didn't think it took the tires much time to warm up (or that it really mattered all that much, honestly), but I went into the corner full speed and it just pushed straight to the wall. The next few laps I come through there pretty much full speed without lifting, and it stuck. So I blaming the tires!

How does this place compare to Speedzone as far as price and length of time on track? Want to take the kids(14 and 15 yrs). Usually I take them to Speedzone. Price isn't too bad there and the kids like it. Only go once a year if that matters.
