A lot of the "stock" kits use the factory coil over shocks with nothing more than an extension, and just add to the ride height in the rear with some new rear shocks. I would hope it has a factory ride.

Seen too many lifted trucks be a pain.... wish you luck.

Just keep the tires rotated, and make sure the alignment is perfect. You should be fine....

For sure. I am religious about tire rotations and alignments.

Pro-comp makes decent shit these days..

And how many of the people saying lifted trucks are going to rattle apart in 6 months have owned one? More to the point, owned one in the last 5 years we'll say... Lifts aren't like they were 5 years ago and especially ten years ago. Lifts are way more mainstream than the used to be and the quality has caught up with the increased demand from most lift manufacturers. In Texas especially, dealers install lifts and warranty the lifted trucks and SUVs. Its a nice looking truck and like any stock or modified vehicle of any sort it will hold up and last if it is maintained correctly.

Honestly though, ride quality for me is secondary to reliability and proper geometry. I am used to an awful ride with my lowered Explorer. It can't be as bad as that. I just don't want anything to fall apart or to cut corners and have something all out of whack. I've been surfing powerstroke.org but it's an ocean of jumbled info to the point that I don't know where to start.

          OP, sorry for the hijack.

It's also the reason you see a lot of package deals with ProComp lifts through 4Wheel Parts. When it comes down to it, Pro Comp Lifts are complete shit and ride like shit, their parts are cheap and wear out faster than they should. I had one on my old Z71 and it was great the first 6 - 8 months I had it but the ride went to shit after that. You can spend a little more money and get a better quality lift with a better warranty. Do a little googling and you will find tons of people who wasted their money and weren't happy a little ways down the road.
You have no idea what you are talking about. Pro-Comp actually makes really good quality parts. I have put over 150k miles on my truck with a 7 inch lift and 37's. Rides better than my mustang. I have all Pro-comp parts for the lift. Also 6 years, only thing that has worn out were the shocks but I change those every 80k anyways.

I have lifted many trucks with many different kits and the Pro-comp is one of the better kits you can get out of the cheaper kits.

Now I would never lift an independent front suspension vehicle only live axle for me, that is where the problems and maintenance arise.

You say that as if a Mustang rides like a Cadillac and we all know that's not true.

yours is no exclusion. Honestly I think it's the wheels that kill it for me.

My most important thing I have to ask.... Do you need a lifted truck? Do you actually go off road enough to need a lifted truck? Or is it just the look you want....
                          Some cars and a bike...

Do I need one? No. Do I off road? Not really. Do I like the look? Hell yeah. Why did I lift it? Cause I wanted something different. I have never had a lifted truck. So why not right? It's not practical for most, but I have 5 other cars to drive. I drive my gt to office mostly now anyways. Or the bike. So the truck is just something I've always wanted and I wanted a lifted one. I love it.

Truck looks great, dig the wheels/tires.

I dunno what everyone is bitching about lifted trucks. I just had a z71 with 3" body lift, 33s, and some edelbrock shocks/struts. The only time I noticed a difference in gas mileage was when i didn't wash off the mud from baja or off roading like a dumb ass.
