  • Is anyone having this problem with 185r55/17 Racemaster tires?

These tires have less than 5000 miles on them. So, I called M&H, they told me these tires are rated for 2500 miles(at $175 a piece).I am just posting to let everyone know because no one told me when I bought the Racestar package(17 x 4 1/2) from Late model Restoration.

You would think they would last a bit longer when not driven at 150+ mph every time out....wait, I am assuming they aren't.

So you're bitching because you aren't getting more miles out of tires that aren't designed for everyday use?

I wouldn't stick a screwdriver into the tires. They don't last as long when you do.

I remember the first time I tried to use a screwdriver to install my tires.

2500 miles of track time would have lasted a lot longer

Looks like a "cold tear" as a sportbike guy. What PSI are you running them at? What are they rated for?

What about load rating, vehicle weight, how hard are you driving on them?

Speed rating? How fast have you gone on them?

Umm, why would you spend 175 a tire when you can get Goodyears for about 50 bucks a tire?

                    Link?

I just bought some skinnies for my draglites that were eighty something a tire and that was the cheapest I could find in stock. They're only 15's too.

The tires are going to be overloaded, but they won't see much use so I'm not worried about it. The last set lasted ~10 years.

My twenty five year old temp spare did about the same thing.
