Fuck... custom cam, CNCd heads, suspension work, gears, pulleys... It better run a high 9!

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that the '13 Shelby will crack a 9.xx without the heads leaving the block. I'd almost be willing to say they would do 9s without even touching a valvecover. It's going to be 300lbs lighter than the Camaro and already making obscene power. A couple pulleys and an E85 tune might be all it takes to crack 700whp. It's gonna be fun any way you slice it!

Still bad ass though!! Technology is pretty crazy these days..
I was just going off the add at the end of the video. The "stage 3" package was $10,xxx...

$55K base price, plus another $20k in mods to go 9's?

The Shelby will be in the 9's with a lot less work/cost.

Is there a shop that can improve on the already superior flowing heads?

I wish ford would put a auto in the gt500. The gt500 should make around 700 rwhp without spending more than a few thousand on parts with a E85 tune. Exhaust, pulleys, fuel pumps, and a tune should put it in the ball park.

I wonder why they didn't port the blower. Are there any aftermarket blowers for the ZL1 yet?

Yes. I've been on the R&D side of cylinder heads that were mapped, ported and then CNC milled beyond what was considered the end-all-be-all for that head in the 2.3T world, as an example.

looking at the price tag for both.. i decided it's better to stick with my Cheapy used vette than either a ZL1 or GT500

Main reason is because they are faster once you start talking 9 second cars. I also find them to be tougher in a 9 second car toting around 4k# with driver.

One of my biggest personal reasons though: my wife could drive me around in it while I get my drank on.

I'd convert my 07 to a auto if it wasn't so damn expensive.
