I want/need to know where they sourced the heat shield materials. That looks like a rigged dimpled foil that is flexible enough to make the bends and contours.

Anyone have suggestions on where to find it?

My great grandfather.





Not sure what is meant by the last bit of it. His wife's name was Lily, and this was an ethyl gasoline ad from 1951. Probably an inside joke between them.

That is a Model T based car.

My great grandfather (in the photo) was 5'3 and his wife was 4'10.

His son, my grandfather, was 5'4 and his wife was 5'0.

His grandson, my dad, is 5'5 and my mom is 5'2.

I'm lucky to not be 5'6.

And I got some more info on the car from the HAMB.

It's the C. D. "Pop" Evans car, a very famous California Big Car. The only time it raced in Texas was July 4, 1930, as one of six Californian entries invited to augment the field at the Abilene West Texas Fairgrounds. Carly Ryder was the driver, and the car retired halfway through the 100-lap main event. The engine was a Model T Ford, and the rest of the car a "Motley Special", if you get the drift. Built in the early twenties.
