Anyone remember this one? Arguably the badest C4 on the planet....

with the 24x conversion (ditch the opti, go to lsx pcm/coils) i think a huge part of the problem with the ltx can be dealt with.

I like the C4s. They have a lot of potential if you're looking to go fast.

I've seen for myself an otherwise stock '89 with TRW forged 4.030" flattops, home-ported heads, and a 150 shot that went 10s. I wouldn't recommend boost, there is a lot of underhood heat in there.

That's a nice car for only having $5k in it. But I would also be more inclined to keep it reliable than make it fast. JMO

There is some power to be made in those engines. I had a 96' LT1 TA years ago...made 422rw NA, and wasn't really a crazy combo IMO. Stock short block with AFR heads, AFR rev kit, CC306 cam, lifters, springs, LT4 intake, Lingenfelter T-body, SLP Headers, and SLP Loudmouth exhaust. Home tuned with LT1Edit. I know it had more in it with the right tune...prob around ~450 or so. I had a 150 shot for it, but never installed it....was always curious how well it would have reacted on the bottle.

BTW - the stock heads will make good power with the right port job...you'd be surprised.

For a budget combo, sure, but you get what you pay for. For good track and dyno numbers AI is a far better choice.

I'm gonna lower the rear first and then stop modding for a while. I'm out a phone now, so i've gotta pay for that. Fuckin thieves.

I had a 96 LT! TA, for what it was, I felt it was faster then my 99 Z stock vs stock. I like the way the LT1 feels at 80 mph +

No, he'll do fine. Those LT1s had what, like 18:1 compression from the factory? Just needs some methanol I'm sure.
