Well, the fiance and I are working our way around the world. We originally planned to go to South Africa for a friends wedding and a vacation. Since we are using airline miles, we made some extra stops along the way. I really wish we could make more stops but both of our jobs cut us off at 4 weeks vacation.

We left DFW on an AA flight to San Francisco. Boring 4hr flight.
When we got to San Francisco, we hopped on over to the Cathay Pacific First/Business Class Lounge for some free food/drinks and some comfort.

First Class food was great:
Smoke Salmon and Roe Starter:

Apple and Fennel Soup

King Crab Salad

Waygu Beef with veggies (wasnt the best steak, but it was great for airplane food)

Bread Pudding with Chocolate Sauce and Ice cream:

Then it was time to sleep:

Landed in Hong Kong with a 4 hour layover...then off to Dubai.

I flew FC to japan on AA and it wasn't even close to that. The FC lounge was freaking nice at Narita. I didn't mind when the flight was delayed.

I am jealous you got to fly on the 747, on my flight to Italy this Summer, we are on a 777 (no complaints), but I have always been facinated by two story planes. We are on United's Business/First so it beats Coach for 10 hours.

Cars...there are some expensive cars everywhere. Havent uploaded all the pics yet but Bentlys are plenty, saw 3 Ferraris, 1 lambo, 4 Audi R8's, and tons of A8L, IS5, LS460s, etc. Saw a Aston Martin DB9 today:




I will try and get more pics up tomorrow. Free hotel internet sucks. Those are from Day 1 Dubai. Today was day 2 but we leave for South Africa tomorrow morning. 2 nights in Dubai isnt enough.

I was not impressed on the 747, all it is is a 777 with more room on top only accessible by a small stair case. First class no doubt. Which was way better then the business class that I saw on the ground floor. But I am not going to shell out so much money for something that I have to bear only for 8-14 hours.

Very cool, looking foward to the pics from RSA.

First/Business is the only way to go on international flights. I couldnt image seating in coach that long.

That is just first class.. lol The whole plane isn't like that. From what I noticed, international flights are the remodeled nicer planes. First class on domestic flights sure as hell don't look like that, that is for damn sure. Even the 7-8 hour flights to London it felt like a flashback to the mid 90s...

8mpg - if you are flying the same on the way back (most likely a 747) you should try getting up top where the pilots are. They come out, talk to you, hand you cookies, you get to go up to the controls and all that. All pre-flight of course but still pretty neat to experience...
