In a life threatening situation whatever you do, don't listen to this guy. Do NOT attempt to cut an "X" over bite and attempt to suck the poison out. Your mouth has so much gunk and bacteria in your saliva the wound is surely going to be infected. However, John Wayne was quite the bad ass.

Alcohol only cleans the surface but I could be wrong. I got cut by a hog last month and cleaned it with alcohol then tried to give it a few days and it still got infected so it's not for certain.

Hell I used rubbing alcohol, lol. I had the pleasure of dispatching some hogs after a kids event so we couldn't shoot them inside the arena. I had to get the dogs to catch the pig one at a time then let the air out of it's lungs.... Only had a pocket knife on me. After day three my arm looked like a balloon and felt that way from the infection, lost most mobility in my hand/arm up to the elbow.

got a couple of snake questions for you guys. Couple of weeks ago I was down in Cleburne and almost for bit by a copperhead at Supreme. If I do get bit by a copperhead or a rattlesnake. Would it be better if I dial 911 and wait for them to come to me or should I get in my car and race up to the hospital in Burleson?

If I'm not mistaken a copperhead bite is not even in the same ballpark as a rattlesnake bite. Copperhead bite is going to be a bitch, but you're most likely going to make it unless a child or elderly.

Rattlesnake bites I believe need treatment fairly damned quick and are quite a bit more serious. I'd do whatever is fastest in this case, even if it means begging someone who lives near-by to drive me. (if you know the ambulance is going to take at least 10 minutes)

well my knowledge with snakes isn't that great, so I don't know how lethal a copperhead bite is. All I know is it has venom lol.

Wow, there is not a single snake on that list I have even heard of. They don't even mention the most common types.
