When I got home from work yesterday I found this little guy in my backyard. I didn't have a DP can handy but his shell was about 2.5ft long and the owner said he weighed close to 80lbs.

pretty turtle. I've never seen one that big, except at the zoo or on tv.

The neighbor across the street owns it. He has a few animals including a big ass bird that sits on his shoulder when he mows the lawn.

dang that's huge. We've found a couple of turtles before in our back yard but they were about 6-8 inches.

About a year ago a friends girl friend found a rather large turtle in the street in front of their house and decided to put it in the back yard so it would be "safe" and not get hit by a car. About a week later she decided to mow the back, me and my buddy are sitting inside when we hear the mower turn off and she bursts into the house screaming / crying. There were turtle parts and paste all over the yard and sprayed onto the fence.

Weirdest thing I found in our backyard growing up was a goat drinking out of our pool....he was apparently Easter dinner for the people down the street.

I wonder if he got so big from eating meat instead of fruit. There use to be a vid floating around of one snatching a pidgeon and taking him under the water.
