Today is the anniversary of the USS Iowa accident where one of their 16" gun turrets was overrammed which resulted in the detonation of the powder bags, with the breach door open. It killed 47 people. Pretty tragic. Here is a video of the explosion, doesn't look like much from the outside but the pressure and blast was enough to kill everyone in the turret. Also posted is a link to the wiki page with a lot more specifics. Just figured I'd bring it up. RIP sailors.

They didn't even need to hook them to the ship. My understanding is that the BB's turrets just sat in their beds and rode on rollers. If one were to capsize the turrets would fall out of the ship.2004 Suzuki DL650
