Dropping a moving target at 200 yards is a really good shot, especially with a 30/30. Congrats, time to fire up the grill. It always tastes better if it has never been refrigerated.

They will eat a calf that's just been born when they can't run and momma doesn't have enough energy to chase them off but that's not real common. I have seen a large group of pigs chase cattle off their feed ground but you feed a few some lead and they will stop for a few months.

None of the 10 + Marlins that I own eject out of the top and I can hit a small target at 200 yards with most of them.

earlier models were top eject, common in the 70's. Most of them came with octagonal barrels.

See CJ's post... and I assume you mean you can hit a small target while it is running across a field 200 yards away at 5-10 mph? Okay.

Winchesters are top eject only difference in them is older models eject straight back when the newer models were angled some for the use of a scope. Like CJ said Marlins have been side eject for at least 30 years.

I've done the same thing but I was using a bow and arrow and it was a mountain lion running 35mph and 250 yards. My kill shot was through his eye though

Well shit, a mountain lion is a huge target. I go bow hunting for doves and rabbits.

You can hit a pig from 200 yards with a .30-30 no problem. Doing it standing while it's running while looking through a scope... that's pretty difficult.

It's easy for someone to try and explain it away if you have no experience in firearms. It doesn't take a expert marksman skill level to drop a hog at 200 yards with a scoped 30-30 when the hog is just scurrying around.

I guess the Earth is flat!!! Oh noes!!!

With open sights I would agree. With a scope I disagree on a hog. They don't run that fast as it is, IMO, let alone when they are just "chasing" some calves around.

You assume I have no experience with firearms... you have assumed wrong.

As to the rest of your statement, I'll repeat myself: Yeah... okay.

I hit a running buck 3 times at 100 years with the same 30-30 (with iron sites). But then again I've probably shot close to a million rounds, half of which were through my .22 Henry.
