Not trying to be a smart ass, but I didn't see any plug welds to the frame extensions so it didn't look like it was done. The best way to do it is get some self tapping screws and sinch them together and drill about 10 5/16 holes on both sides of each rail and plug weld it to make it secure. Looks good for your first set of pans.

I welded them at the very back and under the car. I wasn't quite sure where to weld on that piece since my old pans were completely rusted out. Will fix it tomorrow.

Just keep researching or asking questions when it comes to this stuff. Being a unibody car, the floorpans are essential to structural integrity of the car.

From what I gather the torque boxes and rocker panels are the all important things on these cars. Can't see getting much strength from the pans since they are thin enough to easily cut with tin snips.

Ok, got my carpet installed today and I am finally dialing in the carb on the 351. The more I drive it with the 351c in it, the more I like it. Starting to wonder if I could get 20+ MPG on it if I went with a 5 speed and got rid of the direct drive fan in favor of an electric. Anyway, on to the pics of the interior.

New carpet looks good. What are you going to do with the rest of it?
Fuck you. We're going to Costco.

Pretty sure I know that car. Did you buy it from a guy named Byron Connley, or maybe his son?

Yeah, he used to manage the store that I now manage back in 2002. He is retired now. Nice guy; just saw him today, actually. Was fixing it up for his son a little, but he ended up daily driving it up there for quite some time back in 02/03. Doesn't look like it has changed a bit; crazy.

I got it from a guy named Stan Hart. His daughter was dating the owner of this car, guessing Byrons son. When they broke up, his son wanted to sell it, so Stan bought it and now me.
