I hope it wasn't an insult, it wasn't intended as such.
Well, I don't do that sort of thing (financial planning/advising) professionally, but I could set you up with someone who could. I could also look over your current advisor's allocation strategy just as a "barometer" if you will. I have always held that offer out to long time members and have done it for quite a few. Again, my apologies - my comment wasn't intended to be contentious.
Perhaps I shouldn't, but I put 100% in my advisor. I'm down a good 10% currently, but the roth is a long term investment, correct?
I am not trying to rope you in, I just want you to know that I respect your knowledge, and am trying to give you the opp to say I told you so. The investments that we have made are 30 year investments, kinda weird to give up cash for 30 years.
Sometimes I'm thrown off by the arguments grown ass men have on this board.
Who gives a fuck what the dude spends his money on, where he lives etc. If it makes him happy and doesn't directly have a negative effect on you I don't why anyone should give a shit.
As far as living in a trailer goes, I have a family member and a friend that both live in big RV trailers on some land and they love it. Works prefectly for them and both are well enough off to buy or build a house it they choose. Hell I would pick a trailer over an apartment.
I love my C5, but I think I'll be trading it in on a C6 z06 soon.

As long as you've got money piling up in the bank I've got no problem with someone living in a travel trailer to minimize monthly housing expenses and having a vette. Got to have some fun in life. Now if you live in a trailer just to be able to afford the vette then you might have some priorities backwards.
Right now rent on houses is so ridiculous here I've seriously considered renting out my house in town(for over double my mortgage, taxes and insurance) and moving out to the trailerhood. I would laugh all the way to the bank, especially at the people talking shit because my vehicles would probably be worth double where I was living lol.

Agreed, rental properties are very nice to have these days.

Agreed completely. Some of these guys have a serious elitist chip on their shoulders thinking they are better than everyone else. Giving Sebastian shit for buying a 15 year old Vette just because he chooses to live where he does not living up to their ideals. If the guy is happy and not effecting anyone else, it's none of their business.

Anything decent in midland is renting for 100+ a sqft per month. My house is right at 2000 sqft and realtor friend of mine says she could have it rented in a week or less for $2400 a month. We have 110k people and less than 200 houses on the market for sale.

Even more sad is just a few years ago we just about had to tape $100 bills to my grandparents house in Odessa to give it away. I think my family wound up getting about $15/sq ft. Sad.

I know a guy who just sold an older single wide for 30k no land included. It is just crazy here. I bought my house in 09 and it has already gone up 50k over what I paid for it.
