Yup, if he want's to one up Tony Hawk's 900 he needs to do it on a real half pipe, not one of those x-games roll in super 1/4 pipes. That's still pretty bad ass though for such a young kid.

To be honest, I would be surprised if thats the "first" 1080. Tony Hawks 900 was impressive because it was done on a normal vert ramp during a competition. He had landed the 900 plenty of times in practice, just not during an event.

I would think so too, but a quick google has several reputable news sources saying that he's the first to ever land a 1080. I still tend to believe that he's just the first to do so on film.
