  • A fascinatingly disturbing thought

I could listen to Dr. Neil DeGrasse Tyson all damn day.

The dude is fucking greatness. His ability to make astrophysics, chemistry, astronomy, etc palatable to the masses is nothing short of amazing.

    With Colbert (1hr 18min)

Brian Greene is damn good also... I'll post some of his stuff in here later.

I subscribe to his podcast. If you don't, you should. It's freaking awesome to the nth power.

I watched all of that second vid, that man is ridiculously intelligent, I used to watch "the universe" with his commentary; loved that show/series. Astrophysics and Quantum Mechanics are really fascinating, I only wish I were at the level of understanding.

I watch everything that gets posted about/by him. He has an amazing talent for bringing his level of understanding to the average persons level, without making it feel like they are being talked down to. That, plus he just makes sense. Sadly, he even makes sense when he describes Americas place in the scientific world as we know it today contrasted to 25 - 50 years ago.

He is an absolutely fascinating man. I would give just about anything to have a conversation with him.
His ability to take something as complex (to the average person) as astrophysics, chemistry, quantum physics, and astronomy and break it down in a way that people can understand, while not dumbing it down, is a true mark of his intellect.
"It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom - for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself."

I had a feeling that you knew that I was referencing that quote exactly.

I've got a bit of a mancrush on Neil DeGrasse Tyson, I must admit.

How about a 160 (+?) IQ fart joke.

For his entire Amazing Meeting 6 speech:

"There is no shame in not knowing. The problem arises when irrational thought and attendant behavior fill the vacuum left by ignorance." Neil DeGrasse Tyson
"I would request that my body, in death, be buried. Not cremated, so that the energy content contained within it gets returned to the earth, so that the flora and fauna can dine upon it. Just as I have dined upon the fora and fauna throughout my life" - Neil deGrasse Tyson
